FREEDOM NOW Global Art Exchange & Exhibit 2015 online album!

On March 18th, 2015, Guria launched the FREEDOM NOW Global Art Exchange & Exhibit! 39 schools around the world (in Angola, Brazil, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Montenegro, Romania, Senegal, South Africa, Switzerland, and the U.S.) educated students about human trafficking, created art about human trafficking, exchanged their art with each other around the globe, and finally put on student art exhibits in their respective schools. With the schools permission, we have compiled an online album of 66 paintings, containing at least one painting from each school.

Now we are sharing the album with all of you! When resources allow us, we will get this published and send it to all the schools that participated. We hope this act of solidarity of hundreds of children/students worldwide will grab the attention of the globe, and demand that real action be taken against human trafficking. The project will empower and educate all parties involved – children affected by trafficking, teachers, students themselves, and many more. Together, we will demonstrate the power of youth to make change, and the power of art to transcend borders and celebrate plurality.

FREEDOM NOW Art Exchange & Exhibit is a part of Guria’s ongoing worldwide campaign, “FREEDOM NOW,” that raises awareness about modern-day slavery through music, art, marches, and media. Please contact us if your school/student group/youth club/organization wishes to participate in the FREEDOM NOW Global Art Exchange & Exhibit 2016. Questions and suggestions are always welcome!
